On June 18, 2022, in the Archdiocese of Boston, we concluded the Year of the Eucharist, on the Feast of Corpus Christi (the Body and Blood of Christ).
It began on Holy Thursday, 2020, and was meant to be a year of celebrations, events, and observances to remember that as Catholics, we believe that the bread and wine we receive at Mass, are truly the Body and Blood of Christ. Of course, COVID impacted our planning, so the “Year” was extended and concluded last weekend with one of the largest Catholic celebrations in Boston—possibly ever. Over 3,500 people attended, “Jesus Is Here,” a Eucharistic Congress, held at the Tsongas Center in Lowell. The day-long event included Mass, speakers, music, confession, adoration, and a Eucharistic Procession.
